Running rigging changes

I shortened the shrouds. OK, well I had West Marine shortened the shrouds for me. They were to long and I realized that they were to short to allow me to tension them correctly.

This is a pic after the work was completed.





Here is one before the adjustment
I added about 5 inches of adjustment room by shortening them. The mast angle is now closer to the Swallow Boats guide lines I recently found out from their forum page. The goal is to have the main mast and mizzen mast at the same angle. With the jib halyard tight, the masts are now at the same angle. Well, at least, as close as I can get them.

Great sailing day. Winds were mild at 7-9 mph. While it was overcast, the sun was out out. 75 degrees.





Max speed was 5.7 knots.
